We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent position in Pudsey.

This would potentially suit an apprentice or an experienced 1st year engineer looking to progress

MAIN FUNCTION OF ROLE (Note: in addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required)


* To modify existing drawings and create new designs based on a series of design rules;
* Production of Electrical Designs from customer specifications;
* Attending meetings, both in house and external;
* Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

MAIN DUTIES (The below is the basic duties for your role, other ad-hoc duties are also required)
Duties/Responsibilities:-

Key Responsibilities (Rotating Machines):
* Creating new electrical designs based on a series of design rules;
* To operate within company guidelines and procedures;
* Attending both in-house and external meetings;
* Assisting the sales team in costing and preparing quotations for customers;
* Direct involvement in providing support and technical knowledge where required;
* Liaising with external departments including Sales, Production, Quality, Test and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities (Transformers):
* The generation of both tender and contract transformer designs;
* To meet the requirements for tender/contract design data in accordance with the agreed due dates;
* Liaison with external customers and other departments as necessary;
* Ensuring that procedures and processes are properly reviewed and worked to;
* The continual improvement of quality and environmental standards;
* Cooperate and coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve design quality;
* Continuous development of design processes and procedures;
* The maintenance of housekeeping standards dictated by the company;
* The proper utilisation and maintenance of all equipment provided for his/her use;
* Analysis of Quality Alerts, actioned appropriately and in a timely manner;
* Contribution to companywide Transformer Engineering and Manufacturing initiatives;
* To ensure the requirements of new technology are assessed and effectively utilised;
* Contribution to companywide Transformer Engineering and Manufacturing initiatives;

* To participate and monitor developments in National/International specifications;
* Interpreting and discussing technical specifications with the lead engineer;
* Working to deadlines in a professional manner;
* Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team;

CARRY OUT THE ROLE Qualifications/Skills required for the role:
* GCSEs High school or equivalent;
* Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering
* Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel and VBA programming.
* Ability to read Engineering Drawings (Solidworks & Autocad)
* Desirable candidates will have electrical engineering knowledge, specifically basic AC and DC theory, magnetic circuits, electrical design, motors, generators and transformers. Personal characteristics/Attributes required:
* To be able to work well using own initiative and as part of a team;
* Ability to ensure the work gets done in a timely and effective manner;
* Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures;

Salary is between £20,000 and £25,000 per annum depending on experience.
